Across Central Tennessee, the Youth Advocacy Board is creating opportunities for young people to lead, connect, and make a difference. Serving a diverse region that includes both urban and rural communities, the YAB brings together youth voices to address shared challenges and build stronger support systems.
The Central Tennessee YAB focuses on empowering young people with lived experience to become advocates for change. By providing a platform for their voices, the YAB ensures that programs and policies reflect the realities faced by youth across the region.
Members engage in a variety of activities, including peer outreach, community engagement, and collaboration with service providers. They help identify gaps in resources and advocate for solutions that improve access to housing, education, and employment opportunities.
One of the most powerful aspects of the YAB is its ability to bring young people together. In a region where communities can be spread out, the YAB creates a sense of connection and shared purpose. Members support one another, learn from each other’s experiences, and work together toward common goals.
Through leadership development and advocacy, the Central Tennessee Youth Advocacy Board is helping to build a future where all young people have the resources and support they need to succeed.
